Bourbon, simple syrup, bitters, and an orange peel—how is it possible that such a simple recipe can result in a drink as enchanting as an Old Fashioned? We couldn’t figure it out either, so we instead turned our minds toward recreating the classic cocktail in beer form. The result: A German-style bock aged for two months in Four Roses bourbon barrels, then infused with 10 pounds of blood orange zest.
