Silent Barrel #1188 "Brotha’s Keeper" – Brothas & Craft Beer

It was our pleasure to do our first barrel pick with a beer group of fans/lovers/supporters of Side Project and what we try to do with our barrel-aged stouts and this Silent Barrel series!In March we had several members of Brothas and Craft Beer into our barrel room to take a day to sample barrels, pick their favorite, and discuss all things Side Project and barrels. After some beers, some food and a lot of barrel sampling, the winner for the group was Barrel #1188 - Vibes recipe which was aged for 25 months in a 1792 barrel. 1792 is not a barrel we use very often, so it produced a very distinctive and beautiful Barrel Aged Stout which stood out among the rest. Our Vibes recipe has always lended itself very well to rye barrels as seen in BBT Rye and the use of the high rye 1792 was no different. Elevated field spice, with a purposeful oak presence and rye fragrance, backed by our decadent, chocolatey, imperial stout, Silent Barrel #1188 - Brothas Keeper, was a pleasure to add to our Silent Barrel Library.
