The second of our 2019 foraged fruit series.A tiny little pale aged in 3rd fill white wine barrels M+ French oak with Dublin 8 foraged gooseberries & blackcurrants.13kg of fruit was harvested. Over the fence, very early on a sleepy Sunday morning our urban farmers went, a mere 5 days before the bulldozers rolled in to clear the old Weaver Allotments to accommodate redevelopment. The skins were broken & fruit was added directly to the barrel.The results are light crisp bright & refreshing. A subtle little beer with a fine balance. A tint of orange in appearance, prickly gooseberries on the nose, light blackcurrant skins on the palate with a super light body. Perfect for the centre of the dinner table.
