WHAT DOES IT EVEN MEAN ?You know we love hops. Hops with big juicy fruity aromas. The tropical, citrus and stone fruit notes that make our IPAs shine. But we also have serious love for the more subtle, elegant hop varieties. The ones that layer floral, herbal and earthy notes into our lagers, that refine and add nuance to our pilsners.Locher-Hopfen is a family owned farm in Tettnang, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, right next the border of Bavaria, from which we source all of our German grown hops. They not only harvest all the traditional German hop varieties, but also several rare heirloom varieties of various European heritage not grown anywhere else. We love experimenting with these special hops, and when we imagined a vibrant, fresh pilsner to celebrate the coming of spring this year, one in particular felt perfect for the occasion.Petit Blanc is an old, nearly lost French variety, formerly grown in the “Champagne-Ardenne” region, close to Burgundy. Noble European in nature with an intensively fruity and diverse character, with notes of papaya and melon, cherry, lilac, pina colada, lemon blossom, green tea and beeswax.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW THOUGHA simple grain bill of Pilsner and Vienna malts, hopped with 100% Petit Blanc. A bright, fresh, pillowy soft pilsner with a gentle malt sweetness balanced by a clear hoppy bitterness, a lively crisp finish, and vibrant Petit Blanc hop aromas so diverse you’ll catch a different one with every sip.
