Judged best dark ale in NZ at the 2022 Brewers guild awards, our take on the classic export style is named for the dark sky reserve around the mackenzie basin. One of the worlds best spots for stargazing, this beer is best enjoyed on a wintery evening whilst partaking in some shooting star spotting. A pitch black pour with a tight tan head reveals an abundance of complex coffee, chocolate and caramelized sugar aromas that meld with roasted grains and some wood char. Light and creamy are the first impressions in your mouth; Giving way to a balance of coffee and campfire roast marshmallows and washed clean with a dryness and long roasty bitterness thats classic of the style.
