Inspired by the red sour ales from the Flemish Region in Northern Belgium, this beer seeks to harness the funky characteristics of our old, sour red base and blend its vinous, balsamic, caramel-y notes with the freshness and sweetness of a younger beer in order to achieve a perfect harmony between sweet and sour. We decided to add an extra layer of flavor by refermenting the blend on carbonically macerated Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Argentina’s wine regions, which provides a fruity and rich undertone with some lights tannins for texture.
