This beer was founded on a grain bill including dark European malt and chocolate rye, both of which were cold steeped before mashing to lower the astringency. It was hopped with Hallertau Tradition and naturally carbonated over a six-week fermentation. Aromas and flavors of toasted squaw bread, lightly roasted coffee, dark chocolate and subtle berry loom through a medium-light body and dry finish.
