It took some real brains to make such a big beer so smooth! We started with a beautifully restrained Russian Imperial Stout before layering it with tonka beans, cacao nibs and yep...beetroot. Expect a deep roastiness with notes of coffee, fruits, chocolate, vanilla and the velvety earthiness of the beetroot. At 9.4% be careful not to drink too much too quick, or you may end up becoming part of the Walking Dead!This beer uses a profile of Pale Ale Malt, Barley, Oats, Chocolate Malt. Roast Barley, Crystal Malt 60L, Crystal DRC and Dextrose.In the boil we hopped with FLEX for bitterness and Hellerttau Zuchstramm before adding Tonka Beans and Cacao nibs. Fermented with US-05 yeast before adding the Beetroot to finish it off. Clocking in at 61 IBU.
