Legacy No. 5 is a Barleywine barrel aged in Single Malt Whiskey and Rye Whiskey barrels. The rich malt backbone of the barleywine is enhanced by the caramel and toffee notes from both the single malt and rye whiskey barrels. The rye whiskey barrels introduce spicy, grainy elements that add a layer of complexity and balance the sweetness. The oak from both types of barrels contributes woody, earthy tones and a slight charred character, enriching the overall flavor. In terms of mouthfeel, this barrel aged Barleywine is full-bodied, smooth, and slightly creamy, with a lingering, warming aftertaste.
