Make no mistake, with the ever-increasing array of ‘hop products’ available to brewers these days, wet hops present a tricky and old school ingredient that produces intensity and characteristics at home in English Bitters, Pilsners and generally more subtle and understated styles. We used 100% English base malt which provides a biscuity and sweet malt backbone and then threw 10kg of Nugget and Cascade from Preston Valley Hops in the whirlpool! The resulting beer is soft and luscious with herbal and citrus hop notes and a low bitterness.
