Presenting Roes Red with Black Currants and Figs, a new fruited batch of our Flanders-style red ale. Continuing the tradition of previous Roes Red batches, this intricate brew was aged using the Solera method in our Carlsbad taproom’s 1000-gallon Barolo cask. This batch was then graced with 300 pounds of organic black currants, imparting brightness and berry flavors; and 66 pounds of organic dried California-grown figs (equivalent to 700 pounds of fresh figs!), adding savoriness and decadence that balance the bright fruit notes. With tastes of cherries, fig paste, red berries, and subtle toasted oak, this year's fruited Roes Red is a testament to the beauty of brewing with time and patience.
