BARREL ADOPTION 2022Barrel no. 256, as you can see the names on the labels are getting shorter and shorter. Matthew strikes again!An amber blend aged in Merlot ex 15-year-old Irish single malt. The combination of dark fruits, plum / dark cherry from the merlot and the fruit soft character of Irish single malt plays beautifully here with the toffee / caramel and robust piney nature of the beer. This one took longer that anticipated to release the dark fruit nature of the barrel. Just an example where the best laid plans can be at the mercy of time. This was originally due out for 'summer' box.
