Ralph's IPA Challenge, which began in 2009, was an annual competition hosted at Bar Volo (and eventually Cask Days) that challenged local brewers to brew an original IPA recipe that showcased their skill and passion for all things hoppy. The IPA Challenge ran for 10 years and birthed many of Ontario's favourite and most recognizable IPAs ever - beers that have dominated what we know today as Craft Beer in Ontario! AMADO is a collaboration between Iain and Cody from Amsterdam (who originally met at Volo!) and Ralph and Chris from Volo. This beer is a throwback to the classic, bitter, resinous and piney IPAs that would have been prevalent at those early IPA Challenges.
