Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew. We name these beers in sequence - their numbering first indicates the year in the Trillium lifespan that the beer was released, followed by a recipe indicator. Learn more about our Permutation series by checking out our overview and our refresh.Permutation 6.02 honors the rich tradition of rustic ales commonly found on the farmhouse tables in the Wallonia region in Southwest Belgium. Typically, the brewing season for this provincial style lasted from November to March, with the last batches being intentionally more robust to last through the warm summers, while still remaining refreshing and quenching. Keeping this history in mind our brewing team at Fort Point created a New England based iteration featuring Valley Malt to be proudly shared at our table or your own.Pouring a light yellow straw color with slight haze and a rocky white head, Permutation 6.02 swirls layered aromas of bread dough, green hay, and bright citrus with subtle hints of spice. On the palate, crisp and refreshing flavors of lime zest, tangy lemon, apricot and pineapple meld with a sturdy yet not overpowering multigrain backbone. Light bodied, Permutation 6.02 offers delicate notes of white pepper and fresh cut grass to highlight its brisk and dry finish.
