Almost a couple years ago Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, CEO/Founder/Owner of Mikkeller, visited Sacramento and brewed an Imperial Stout here at Moksa. We decided to stash a small part of that original brew in apple brandy barrels to take the beer to another level. Twenty-three months later the base beer was finally ready to exit the oak. We treated it with Dulce de Leche, Mexican Vanilla Beans, Nicaraguan Cacao Nibs form Cru Chocolate, and a custom blend of Vietnamese, Papau New Guinea, and Brazilian coffee roasted by our friends at Mostra Coffee. This beer is barrel forward but is well complimented by the flavors of the additional ingredients.
