Side Division

Side Division is a bakers’ farmhouse ale or ‘bread beer’ conceived with our friend Alan of Dunedin’s Side On bakery and Pizza Bar fame. It was brewed with their dried baker’s yeast or ‘bread’ yeast, using old world/farmhouse brewing techniques including a step mash and an initial open ferment. We also used Side On’s rye bread baked with our spent grain in the mash. Side Division has definite farmhouse vibes with aromas and flavours of banana bread, spicy rye and nutty bread crust.
