JRF Brewing & Blending: Imperial Stout Aged In Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels

This Imperial Stout incorporates a straight forward blend of some of our favorite malts with just enough hops added to balance it creating a smooth, creamy finish. We wanted to capture the classic, big, chocolatey, roasty character of the Imperial Stouts that changed the way that we think about beer. We then transferred the beer to Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels. The final blend of the product has taken on characters of the barrel for a rich mouthfeel with notes of molasses, vanilla, and nutmeg. A traditional recipe with an unconventional method, this beer is an homage to the past while looking forward.
