Blend 4 is a 14.2% Double Barrel-Aged Old Ale. This beer started several years ago as an Old Ale that we aged in Willet Rye Whiskey barrels. After aging for over a year in Rye barrels, we racked a small blend of these barrels into Apple Brandy Sherry casks that had been previously used for the Oloroso Sherry production.These barrels bring big fruit esters and alcohol flavors from the brandy that blend well with the dark fruit of the Old Ale aged in Rye.
