For the month of June, we (Great Lakes Brewery have built a partnership with an impressive individual by the name of Mike Shoreman. This summer Mike will be the first person with a mental disability to cross all five of the Great Lakes on his own power. The Author, educator, and self-proclaimed "Unbalanced Paddleboarder" will be taking to his paddleboard over the course of the summer to cross all 5 of The Great Lakes to raise money for Jack.org, a non for-profit charity with a mission to support Youth Mental Health. Through the sale of Five Crossings Pale Ale we will be donating $1.00 from every can and pour sold of the beer to chip in for the cause, while also taking donations on our online shop.Mental illness affects 1.2 million Canadian children and youth across Canada, and 1 in 7 Canadian youth will think about taking their own life this year alone. It's a cause that we as a brewery believe strongly in, and that we should all be doing our part to raise awareness when possible and funds where able. The beer, Five Crossings pours a light and hazy bright gold, with a firm white cap. The 4.5% Pale Ale comes with aromas of stone fruit, apricot, and pear. With a light to medium body, the low bitterness assists with a dry, refreshing finish.
