This beer, originally brewed for the Matakana Oyster Festival, is as traditional an Oktoberfest lager as can be made by an American, a Dane, and a couple of Kiwis in a brewery in the North Island of NZ. Brewed in collaboration with our friends from 8 Wired in Warkworth and McLeods in Waipu, this amber lager deftly balances a rich toasty-sweet malt base of highly kilned German base malts with two Noble hop varieties, and a dry, clean finish thanks to a cold fermentation with our house German Lager yeast. A rarely-made beer style in NZ, this Festbier combines an elegant complexity with high drinkability- perfect for quenching the thirst in the biergarten or at the beach.
