Barrel Aged Imperial Dark IPA

The Barrel aged version of the Zwaan&Beek Imperial Dark IPA. This beer has been matured in 2 casks. 1 cask first contained Old Pulteney Whisky and then 4 years Trinidad Rum, and the other cask first contained Edradour Whisky and then 4 years Trinidad Rum. Both casks were simultaneously filled with the Imperial Dark IPA and emptied after 8 months. The beer from the casks was joined again and bottled.The result is a firmly bitter and creamy and heavy dark IPA.In the nose it gives hops, chocolate, coffee, coconut, hazelnut, tropical fruit and the taste brings bitter chocolate, coconut, espresso and hints of licorice and rum. Long lasting aftertaste with bitter chocolate, coffee, fruit and coconut.
