Barrels for Muintearas started life as a freshly charred American virgin oak barrel, in which an unnamed Bourbon was aged for 2 years. It then spent a further 15 years aging the famous Heytesbury Rum from The Diamond Distillery. It then arrived at our shores to finish Jack Ryan’s superb Haddington 11-year-old Single Malt Rum Cask Reserve. Brehon Brewery have now finished this incredibly special imperial stout in these barrels
