Backdrop is our farmhouse ale brewed with malted buckwheat. By adding the buckwheat to the grist alongside the barley and wheat and aging for close to a year in oak, we ended up with rustic and complex farmhouse ale completely different from the rest of our lineup. The buckwheat adds a distinct and unique aroma and body to the beer. Each blend is aged for months in oak wine barrels and then packed with whole fruit at over two pounds per gallon.
