Case ‘Sledgehammer’ was a top secret German plan to develop a strong, crisp beer as a hop accelerator for their clandestine malt liquor research facility, deep underground in the outskirts of Berlin. It was the brainchild of Capt. Heinrich Eisenberg while on the controls of the Magic Carpet during a surveillance flight over the southern provinces.This story is completely fictional. Real is the contents of this can and the story behind the label, showing snippets of our history and community. Also, real is that we first brewed this beer as the ‘Sledgehammer’ in March 2016, and only ever made 4 batches between 2016 and 2017. Many of our fans asked for it to make a return. Well, here it is. The perfect re-release for our 10th anniversary celebration.At a robust 7.5% ABV, this clean, crisp, and hop-forward cold IPA has been fermented on Lager yeast to showcase German noble hops at their best.
