Brewing with experimental hops is a lot like watching Quantum Leap reruns; will you see Scott Bakula leap into a world-changing and life-altering scenario, or will you see him leap into a space chimp named Bobo? Who knows, it could be amazing, could be tragically bad, and mildly offensive. However, it's impossible to decline when Cap Tap asks us to brew up an experimentally hopped Westcoast IPA for their 10th anniversary. Lucky for us and everyone who sips this crispy west coast, HBC586, and its Lupomax counterpart is everything we want in a new hop varietal, packing in this IPA with tropical notes of sweet mango, orange puree, lychee gummies, guava, juicy pear, lemon zest, tangerine wedges, and hints of kiwi. We are really happy with how this hop is making flavor profiles leap across the palate, and excited for it to hit full-time availability and will be petitioning to name it "Bakula" when that time comes.Hops: HBC 586, HBC 586 LUPOMAX
