Late last year our brewer Brayden headed over to Europe for a much-needed spot of R&R. Before he left our shores for Switzerland et al., he brewed up a batch of what he dubbed "Swiss Lager" which lagered in tank for a minimum of 6 weeks while he was away.The beer he brewed was heavily inspired by the Lagers in the German speaking cantons in the north and east of Switzerland. He was planning on calling the beer "Chur" - after the town in which one of these particular beers originates from - but that might have kicked up a fuss with a certain NZ brewery.Since Brayden has returned, the beer has been packaged and is conditioning in keg in our chiller as we speak. Just what a Swiss Lager is we don’t know for sure, but like the Swiss flag it’s a Big Plus. It’s crispy like the Swiss winter. It’s also clean, spritzy and sits at a quaffable 4.0% abv – perfect for this long, dry summer that we're having.
