In the beer world, there's occasionally room for madness - and Like a Goulash is just that. Imagine a beer that smells and tastes like a trip to a Hungarian kitchen. With our friend Botond from Hungarian brewery B*Bop Fermentory we wanted to brew something you don't often see - a goulash-inspired beer.We chose Gose as our base, a slightly sour and salty beer style originally from Germany. We added a lot of tomato passata, onions, peppers, carrots and most importantly authentic goulash spices - Hungarian paprika, tarragon, caraway seeds, bay leaf, pepper and allspice. The result is a beer extravaganza that, while still remaining beer, is on the edge of culinary experimentation. Is it beer? It is. Is it a goulash? Sort of.
