After brewing Mash Gang’s Yeah Nah Yeah NA NEIPA, the UK based brewers were keen to brew another beer with us and a fruited Berliner Weisse style was floated. Berliner Weisse style beers are typically low in ABV, so brewing it as a non-alcoholic style made sense in our heads. We chose a couple of our favourite fruits, Mango and Passionfruit to provide the tropical fruit hit.Vital Stats:ABV: < 0.5%Appearance: Slightly hazy with golden amber hue with tight white bubbles.Aroma and Flavour: Tropical aromas dominate with Mango and Passionfruit combining perfectly to deliver a refreshing summer smasher. The slight sweetness from post fermentation addition of the fruits balances the tart acid produced from the Lachancea yeast strain. Hops and specialty malts take a back seat, with this beer being all about tropical fruit expression and tart refreshment. The finish is slightly sweet but balanced by the acid with a slight lingering tingle of bitterness that is just there.Mouthfeel: Medium. Alcohol typically adds body to a beer so NA beers can be a little thin. However the post fermentation addition of fruit has resulted in a beer with good body.
