Yeast has the power to transform a style, even one as recognizable asstout. In this version, we introduced a Belgian Abbey Ale yeast strain,which brings out noticeable yeasty esters and dried cherry flavors thatare atypical for a traditional stout. The true stoutness of the beer ismaintained in the pitch black color and roasty, dry finish (coming fromthe Guinness Roasted Barley and Midnight Wheat), all of which isaccentuated by dark fruit characteristics derived from the addedBelgian candi sugar.
