2021 Barrel AdoptionIDENTIFICATION: BLANKChinese red wine. OK, sure why not. We were lucky enough to have an opportunity to play around with a single barrel of ex Irish single malt ex Kanaan red wine from China.The main characteristic from the barrels that I got all the way through the maturation was a distinctive / earthy / musty vibe. I always refer to any bold Cab Sauv (especially old house French wineries) as like licking a bramble bush. At a guess I'd say theress a bit of Cab Sauv in the wine blend and more.The beer was billed as an all rounder as, bigger body that RRD, but less dark or chocolate. This was intentional to allow the barrel shine through over the beer. Earthy / musty / blackberry with a oat led toffee malt base.
