The Kokua project is a collaborative brewing effort by breweries around the country and the world to provide relief for the Maui wildfires. Maui Brewing Co developed a recipe, then breweries from all over took that recipe and made it their own. When we first read about this on social media, we texted Dave immediately and knew we had to be a part of this. Kokua means “help” in Hawaiian, which is exactly what we’re trying to do with this beer, as a portion of proceeds are being donated to support Maui relief for the awful wildfires which devastated part of their island a couple months ago.We brewed this beer in St. Thomas a few weeks ago, and we are so happy with how it turned out. Our version of Kokua is a super crushable and refreshing session IPA, perfect for drinking on these steamy Caribbean afternoons.
