As the summer temps rise and the need for crisp, light, and refreshing Lagers grows, we dipped into our brewing tool belt to create an alternative to the classic styles we hold so dearly. In the case of Travel & Leisure we brewed up an insanely dry and light-bodied American-esque Lager, using the best Pilsner malt grown in the USA, and a light sprinkling of Czech Saaz hops, which traditionally are delicate and grassy, but in the case of Travel & Leisure we take advantage of their massive amounts of bound Thiols, and use some ß-glucosidase enzyme to release those thiols, morphing what would be a super dry and earthy Lager into a tropical and fruity Summer Lager; balanced and refreshing, with delicate notes of passion fruit, fresh pears, gold kiwi, crab apple, summer melon, orange blossom, and ice cold white wine. The hyper-light Lagers of summer don't have to be bland and boring, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a lighter or more delicate Lager with more personality than Travel & Leisure.
