A few years ago a liquor store burned down by Mike's house. Walking by there every day with the aromas of vanilla, char, and wood smoke inspired this Imperial Stout with Sugar Creek alderwood-smoked malt and Tonga vanilla beans. The smoke is subtle, bringing a rich tabacco aroma that complimnets the leather and marshmmallow notes from the vanilla beans.
