This series of Imperial Stouts will showcase a certain coffee variety from around the world and how it interacts with beer. For our second installment in this series we used coffee beans from the Da Lat region of Vietnam and had them roasted by Mostra Coffee down in San Diego, California. Mostra sourced the more rare Bourbon Arabica beans from Vietnam, as opposed to Robusta beans. Rather than having the more harsh and acidic taste of the Robusta beans, Bourbon Arabica has characteristics of chocolate, dark fruit, and low acidity making it a perfect addition to an Imperial Stout.
