Mezcal Barrel-Aged Mexican Achromatic — the long-awaited return of barrel-aged Mexican Achromatic, affectionately known as BAMA — has been years in the making. We spent years searching for the perfect way to revive this cult-classic imperial stout, and when we finally secured a small lot of mezcal barrels, we knew the time had come. Starting with a Medianoche base aged one year in Weller bourbon barrels, we then transferred it to freshly emptied mezcal barrels for an additional two years of maturation. After aging, we added a curated blend of cocoa nibs, vanilla, and cinnamon to capture the rich, nostalgic flavors of Mexican hot cocoa, just like your abuelita used to make.
