Double IPAs are also called Imperial IPAs and as it sounds it is just a hoppier and more alcoholic version of a traditional IPA. Our version has been brewed in classic format where the crystal malts and residual sugars are balancing out a very high bitterness. This gives a copper colour instead of being more pale. The off-white head is very persistent with tight bubbles. The Copper colour has a slight haziness and is not very translucent. Bruised red apple skin and pine resin are the first impressions followed up by slight dark caramel and dried fruits notes with a grassy and herbal finish. The flavour is intense with grapefruit flesh and final notes of tangerine rind. The medium-high body and semi dry finish gives a the mouth-feel a smooth texture. Medium high carbonation and slight alcohol warmth gives a complex aftertase that lingers with a lasting bittersweet sensation with no astringency.
