This 13% Imperial Stout was aged for 28 months in a Four Roses bourbon barrel and then conditioned on toasted coconut, hazelnuts and Tanzania vanilla beans.This stout is decadent and dense and really balanced between the coconut and hazelnut. There are woody oak notes, sweet sticky coconut, and rich chocolate covered toasted hazelnut flavors. We are huge fans of these new (to us) vanilla beans. They are from Tanzania and give off sweet almost caramel-like notes. It’s a perfect match to the touch of warmth from the bourbon barrel, and makes this beer just perfectly lush and balanced.The beer is an ultra dark brown-black, but the color of the mood rings embedded in each waxed bottle top depends on you!
