This mead is made with hand-picked plums from our orchard and apples from a grower in Groningen. The honey comes from a local beekeeper. After fermentation, it was sweetened with concentrated plum and apple juice. In the final stage, it aged with oak chunks soaked for five months in white rum, with cinnamon sticks added.This is the last mead I made with my father-in-law Gerard, who passed away from Alzheimer’s. To honor him, all proceeds from this mead will be donated to the Alzheimer Foundation Netherlands.R.I.P. Gerard.
