Funky Blender Preserves: D'Anjou Pear (1/12/22)

Due to the lack of available Colorado grapes this year (because of a hard frost), we had extra barrel stock to play with. When one of our growers mentioned they had D’Anjou pears available, we jumped at the chance to try them. We had never used pears before and were so excited to experiment with them. We chose to “pair” them with our base beer Funky Blender, which is aged for about six months in oak wine barrels. The unique lemon and lime aromas that came from the barrels of Funky Blender harmonize perfectly with the whole pears we used. The Preserves version of this beer has double the amount of fruit and is like biting into a juicy pear with each sip.
