Merkel Balaton: 2019 Harvest

Merkel aged on Balaton cherries. Believe it or not, I didn’t prefer the balaton merkel we made a couple of years ago due to its overly red jolly rancher/blow-pop qualities....the 2019 version has surprised me with muuuuuch more depth. God I love cherry beers. It tastes like Cru Beaujolais, but it also tastes like a fine fine rendition of itself, with lots of nice spicy and rich pit characteristics from a long-term maceration on the fruit (and pits).
