We usually think of coffee as a fresher-is-better product, so we were intrigued by a Happy Mug Christmas Blend roasted earlier this month from "vintage" Sumatran beans. They claim the aging intensifies the "spices and woodsy notes." We added the coffee to a vintage keg of Unshelled (aka Shelled with vanilla, but without the walnuts). The result is a deeper more-nuanced roast playing off the sweetness of the base beer and vanilla.
